The Open Lord of Waterdeep
He is often called the “Dagger” because of his skill with that weapon and his razor sharp wit and temper. He dresses often in silver and blue colors, often ornamented with the sigils of Waterdeep and, recently, Neverwinter. He can often be found at the Palace of Waterdeep, his official residence.
He is given to wearing armor all the time with a blue and silver cape, making him seem a dashing and dramatic figure. Crowds surround him whenever he leaves Castle Neverwinter, though he is well known to have a number of unseen bodyguards.
Dagult is a highly regarded noble and the Open Lord of Waterdeep, the face of the Lords of Waterdeep. He is largely respected, but as with any leader—especially one who represents a council of unknowns—he has a number of naysayers and enemies from every possible walk of life.
Stories about his background are varied and surprisingly unclear considering his lofty position. What everyone agrees on is that his nobility, while unquestioned, is complicated and touches a surprisingly number of other noble house in Waterdeep, Baldur’s Gate, and Neverwinter, including the displaced houses that have settled elsewhere after the Cataclysm.
He has married into, married children to, or in some way done business with at least a dozen important houses who are old, well established, and influential. His swift rise to power, thereby, is less surprising given those facts.
